Excerpts from Adi Da’s Book, “THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THE WHOLE BODY”
“Our present condition of existence is only a partial and
temporary view of the Real and Divine Condition. It must be
made a Sacrifice, through devotional love, service, and meditation,
directed into Communion with the Divine Person, or
Real God. Only in Ecstasy, or self-forgetting in God-
Remembrance, are we Happy and Full of the Bliss of Eternal
Life. We must give up all possession of our lives, and feelings,
and our mind, and all experience, and enter into Transcendental
Communion with the Living God, in whose Body we
arise and pass away in terrible cycles of self-indulgence, until
we Realize the Identity and Total Body of which our separated
existence is a part.”
“The most ancient human act or symbol of God-
Communion is the offering of food to the Living God and to
the Spiritual Master, the True Man. It is the sign of primal
human understanding—that we are to be a sacrifice to the
Radiant Reality that is the Transcendental Condition of the
World. Our own Force of Life must be granted to God and
to the True Man. We must feed the Truth with our own feeling
sacrifice, the offering of the body-mind. Then the True
Man and the very Divine may, in turn, function as a Process
of Conversion, Transformation, Transfiguration, and Translation
in our own case. In this manner the True Man and the
Living God Incarnate as those who participate in God-
Communion through sacrifice.”
“The Living Spiritual Master is the Agent of the Divine
Person. He is born to Establish, Communicate, and Demonstrate
the Way of God-Realization, or Absorption in the Living
God, Purification from all psycho-physical possibilities,
and Liberation into the Divine Domain.”
“The childish individual wants someone to save him.
The adolescent individual wants to fulfill himself, absolutely
and independently.
The true man simply serves Good Company and surrenders
to Truth, the Living God.”
