Adi Da Asked me to paint this image as a gift for his daughter (Io) in the early 1990's. The painting required a number of attempts to create the image which Adi Da agreed, embodied His Likeness. Then, when I was with Adi Da and Io, assuming He would give the image to Io, He instead handed it to me and I asked whether I should hand it on to Io and He Said, "No, it's a gift for you" with tears in His Eyes.
